ShareMe transfers photos, videos, documents, music and APK files directly between Android devices. Files do not need to be uploaded to the cloud first, so the transfer does not use mobile data and is usually faster than Bluetooth. Performance depends on the local wireless connection, distance and the capabilities of both phones.
No internet does not mean no Wi-Fi
During a transfer, ShareMe establishes a direct connection or a temporary hotspot. Wi-Fi can remain active even when the phone reports that the network has no internet access. This is normal: the radio provides a local connection between devices rather than access to the wider internet.
Before starting, avoid automatic switching to mobile data and keep both devices nearby. Walls, crowded wireless networks and battery-saving settings can reduce speed. A stable connection matters more for a large video than a brief peak transfer rate.
Assign sender and receiver roles
Select Send on one phone and Receive on the other. The devices then find each other by name or connection code. If both users select Send, discovery will not complete. Return to the start screen and assign the roles again.
If the receiver is not found, check Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and nearby-device discovery permissions. Some Android versions associate local discovery with location permission, although the transfer itself does not require geographic coordinates. Reopen the app after changing permissions.
Find and verify received files
ShareMe records completed transfers in its history, and the files are also stored on the phone. Photos generally appear in the gallery after indexing; documents and APK files can be located by name or date in a file manager. The destination folder depends on Android and app settings.
If a connection breaks, a visible filename does not prove that the transfer finished. Compare its size with the original and open the received file. This is especially important for archives and APKs: an incomplete file may look normal but fail to extract or install.
Match permissions to the files being shared
Sending images requires access to the selected photos, documents require file access, and discovery requires nearby-device permissions. Permanent access to the entire media library is not always necessary; newer Android versions let users select individual images. Permissions can be revoked afterward in system settings.
Share installation packages only with a trusted recipient and from a known source. ShareMe delivers files but does not establish whether an APK is safe. For documents and personal photos, a direct local transfer avoids creating an additional cloud copy.
