DoorDash is a delivery app for restaurant meals, weekly groceries, drugstore basics and even flowers. The listing counts more than 310,000 menus and 55,000 grocery, convenience and retail stores across over 4,000 cities in the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It is one of the most used food apps on Android, with 50 million-plus installs and a rating around 4.7 from over six million reviews.

Version 15.294.2 arrived on September 22, 2026, and it runs on Android 8.0 or newer. The update note is a message from CEO Tony Xu about new community initiatives and a new visual identity, so the app may look a little different from what you remember. DoorDash is free to download, rated Everyone, and new customers get $0 delivery fees on their first order, with restrictions.

Key changes in 15.294.2

The update came out on September 22, 2026. Here is what the developer says:

Our mission is to deliver good by connecting people and possibility. If we can play a small role in helping you spend more time with your friends and family or get ahead on your favorite projects, then we have delivered good.

We’re launching a new set of initiatives to deliver good within our communities, and you’ll see a new visual identity that reflects our spirit. Thank you for making DoorDash a success — we wouldn’t be here without you.

Upward and onward!

Tony Xu, CEO and Co-Founder

What you can order

Restaurants are still the main draw. National chains such as McDonald’s, Chipotle, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Panera and Five Guys sit next to local spots in the same feed. Grocery delivery covers everything from produce to diapers, with filters for diets like gluten-free and vegan. Partners include Safeway, Albertsons, Aldi, Sprouts, Meijer and Hy-Vee, among others.

Convenience and retail orders fill the gaps. You can get sodas, candy or ibuprofen from 7-Eleven, CVS or Walgreens, pet food from PetSmart, or beauty items from Sephora. Seasonal extras like Valentine’s Day flowers are there too. Actual choice depends heavily on your zip code, so browse your area before you count on a particular store.

Bigger chains in other categories are part of the mix as well. Dollar General, Wawa, Sheetz, Casey’s, Total Wine, DICK’S Sporting Goods and Tractor Supply all appear among the listed partners. That makes DoorDash a backup for last-minute errands, not just a way to skip cooking.

How ordering works in practice

You can order for right now or schedule a delivery for later, which helps if you want dinner timed to when you get home. Real-time tracking shows when the order should arrive. There is no minimum order size, so a single coffee is allowed, though fees may make very small orders poor value.

Payment options include Google Pay, Venmo, PayPal and credit cards. SNAP/EBT works at participating merchants, which matters for families using benefits for groceries. No-contact delivery leaves your order in a safe spot and alerts you when it is ready at your door.

Pickup is the other option. You order ahead in the app and collect the food yourself, which skips the delivery fee. For DashPass members, eligible pickup orders also earn credits back, as explained below.

Is DashPass worth paying for?

DashPass is the subscription. It removes delivery fees on eligible orders and takes up to 10% off eligible orders from restaurants and stores. Members also get exclusive items and offers, plus 5% back in DoorDash credits on eligible pickup orders. The first 30 days are free, after which it renews automatically at $9.99 a month. You can cancel anytime.

The math is simple. If you order delivery a few times a month, the savings on fees can cover the cost. If you order once in a while, pay per order instead. Either way, set a calendar reminder before the free month ends so the renewal does not catch you off guard. Other charges can still show up at checkout, so compare the final total rather than the menu price.

Privacy and permissions

DoorDash needs your location or address to show nearby restaurants and to route drivers. California residents can read a dedicated Notice at Collection linked from the store listing, which explains what data is gathered. If you prefer less tracking, you can enter an address manually and keep location access limited to while the app is in use.

It also helps to add delivery notes for the driver, such as a gate code or which door to use. Clear instructions matter most with no-contact drop-offs, where nobody hands you the bag.

How much does DashPass cost?

The first 30 days are free. After that DashPass auto-renews at $9.99 per month, and you can cancel at any time.

Can I pay with SNAP/EBT on DoorDash?

Yes, at participating merchants. Other options include Google Pay, Venmo, PayPal and credit cards.

Is there a minimum order amount?

No. DoorDash has no order minimums, although delivery and service fees can make very small orders expensive.
