Getting started and match controls
New players are guided through a step-by-step tutorial with practical demonstrations, and completing it rewards you with Lionel Messi for your squad. The Smart Assist setting reduces the need for complex inputs, helping newcomers get past defenders with a dribble or pass and finish with a powerful shot, without memorizing button combinations while they learn the game.
Beyond standard matches, eFootball offers Friend Matches and Co-op Matches with up to three players a side. Players improve through matches and special items, and an Auto Select setting can handle development if you prefer not to manage every stat. Stadium Elements such as Tifos and Giant Props let you customize your home ground.
Weekly data and the latest update
KONAMI releases weekly data that reflects real-world transfers and match performances, so squads and player form follow the actual season. This is separate from app updates and arrives through the game itself, which is part of why the app stays relevant between larger releases. It also means your players can rise or fall in rating as their real form changes during the season.
Version 11.0.1 arrives without a feature list, only a general fix note and a pointer to the News section. KONAMI says new features, modes, events, and gameplay improvements will continue to be added over time, and the in-game News section is the easiest place to follow those announcements from your phone. eFootball is free with in-app purchases made through eFootball Coins. The listing includes regional rules for loot boxes: users in Belgium, and users under 18 in Brazil, cannot access loot boxes paid for with Coins. In Germany under 12, Denmark under 15, and the United States under 16, a parent or guardian must consent. On Google Play, eFootball carries an Everyone age rating.
That rating reflects the on-pitch content, which is straightforward soccer. Purchases are optional, and much of the game, including matches against the AI and friends, can be played without spending anything at all.
